Alderwood Mall   Lynwood, WA

Alderwood Mall was the expansion of an existing mall from 1,050,000 square feet to 1,320,000 square feet. The mall was repositioned as the dominant, upscale mall in Northern Seattle. This was accomplished by demolishing the existing Nordstrom and Lamont’s buildings to make room for a new flagship Nordstrom store, adding a new 170,000 square foot open-air lifestyle village, as well as a state-of-the-art movie theater and a restaurant plaza with outdoor seating and a public gathering space. In addition, the existing mall was renovated and remerchandised to offer a tenant mix representing the finest and most desirable retailers in the country. Rick Moses participated in the acquisition of the existing mall and managed the design and leasing teams to create an innovative plan to achieve a complete repositioning of the project. Rick lead the project team through corporate and partner approvals and through the design, bidding, leasing and start of construction. Rick negotiated the Nordstrom agreements and obtained approval of the redevelopment plan from all anchor tenants.
